Toombs County Government Hurricane Irma Plans

(September 10, 2017). Based on current predictions by the National Weather Service of continued rainfall and winds into Tuesday morning, the Toombs County Courthouse will be closed on Monday,

September 11, 2017 and Tuesday, September 12, 2017 and will reopen on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. In addition, ALL Toombs County Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Centers will be closed on

Monday, September 11, 2017 and Tuesday September 12, 2017 and will re-open on WEDNESDAY, September 13,2017 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Chairman David Sikes noted, “Given the current weather predictions and the safety concerns we have for our employees and our citizens, we have decided to close the Courthouse Monday and Tuesday and

will re-open on Wednesday, September 13th at our normal hours. Toombs County Emergency Management Agency is in constant contact with both Georgia Emergency Management Agency and the

Federal Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security as we monitor this situation. Please help us by using your best judgement and limit your traveling during this time.”

Should any citizens notice a hazardous road condition caused by the storm, please report that directly to 911.
