February 21--- Larry Estienne Stone age 64, Vidalia, Georgia passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.

Larry Estienne Stone was born March 18, 1949 to the late Lillie Stone Jackson and Harvey Bannister. He attended Dickerson Training School as a youngster, but later transferred to boarding school at Boggs Academy, Keysville, Georgia, where he graduated high school. He went on to attend Fisk College in Nashville, TN.

Larry joined Poplar Spring Baptist Church at a young age, and was active there until his boarding school days. As an adult he loved to debate different aspects of the Bible and Christianity. His knowledge of scriptures and his passion for the logical argument often combined for invigorating and thought-provoking conversation.

His favorite past time was playing chess, as he was a master of the game. His other hobbies included sketching, billiards and archery. He could often be spotted with his bow and arrow near the house on Washington Street in Vidalia.

Larry spent his later years at Southern Comfort Personal Care Home in Statesboro, Georgia. His quick wit, intelligence, and proper speech distinguished him from many of the residents, but also endeared him to the staff and owner. He was indeed a part of the family there, until his passing on February 14, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lillie and Alfred Jackson, and his sister Beverly.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Deidre Jackson Williams (Tony), Jonesboro, Georgia; 4 nieces Brittney Black, Vidalia, Elan, Aris, and Ijah Williams, Jonesboro, Georgia; 2 aunts, Rutha Mae Bell, St. Petersburg, Fl, and Martha Snead, Bridgeport, CT; his family art Southern Comfort, Mrs. Carolyn Williams, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Frankie Bennefield, and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11 am from the Sanctuary of Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Vidalia, Georgia. Rev. Clarence Thomas will deliver the Eulogy.
