10 6 18 TCHS CCOctober 6--The Toombs County Cross Country teams traveled to Washington County Thursday to run in the WACO Invitational.  The Boys team ran well, placing 3rd overall as a team.  Individually, senior Ricardo Santana won the meet.  Ricardo was followed by Martin Santana, who placed 10th, and Cruz Arrenado, who placed 11th.  Rounding out the top 5 was Marcos Zamorano and Uriel Barbosa.

"This was our 8th meet of the year, and this is the first time we have had all 7 of our runners healthy, and able to participate.  I told them before the meet that we had a chance to place well as a team, and we did.  This course was a bit longer, and very tough, so the times are not what we typically see on a cross country course, but our kids ran well.  Ricardo led the entire race and ran strong.  Martin is running better each week, as he has recovered from his surgery that kept him out of running early in the season.  Cruz has been solid all year, and Marcos, Uriel, and freshman Ashton Sanders have all been steadily improving their times through the season." Coach Jeremy Moore said.

On the Lady Bulldogs side, Jacky Balderas placed 9th overall.
