July 31--The Crusaders of Robert Toombs Christian Academy are coming off a successful 9-5 season and a region championship. The Crusaders defeated Memorial Day to win the region but came up short against them in the GISA AA state championship game at Mercer University in Macon.

Robert Toombs will be led again by Head Coach Thomas Smith who is in his eighth year leading the Crusaders.

"Offensively we are counting on Sensier Carnes the lone starter from last season at running back, he has worked really hard this off-season and had some really good showings at different summer camps. Cade Jones and Clayton Meadows have looked really good for us at quarterback.” Coach Smith stated.

“We are excited about the upcoming season. One good thing we have going for us this year is that our guys expect to win. Most of them have been a part of it and they know what it takes to be successful. We have a lot to replace as far as skill players but we return mostly all of the offensive and defensive lines. We are counting on those guys early in the year to lead us while some of the younger skill guys learn their roles.” Coach Smith stated.

The Crusaders open the season August 24th at Pinewood Christian Academy.
