July 26—Congratualtions to Vidalia Indian Cory Braddy who signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to wrestle for the Bears at Truett -McConnell University in Cleveland, Ga.

“I want to thank my coaches, family and everybody who came out and supported me at the meets over the years. When I visited Truett- McConnell they told me they wanted to build me into being a man and not a wrestler and that really stood out to me because that is the same thing Coach Ferry said to me. I would like to come back and teach one day and help out the wrestling program in Vidalia. I love this program.” Braddy said.

VHS Wrestling Coach James Ferry said, “Corry epitomizes what our program is supposed to be and that is to pursue the kids to whatever level they want to be including on to college. He had nine wins his freshman year and now has one hundred and thirty seven including two state medals. Corry is able to use wrestling to further his career and be a teacher and hopefully come back here and coach wrestling. He is a focused kid that likes to work and sees the benefits of putting in the time.”
