July 24—Congratulations to RTCA Crusader Tye Lewis who signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play baseball for the Brewton Parker College Barons in Mt Vernon.

“I want to thank my parents they have pushed and supported me since I was a little kid. Thanks to Coach Larsen for giving me this opportunity. I am looking forward to helping rebuild the team with a lot of young players coming in.” Lewis said.

“Tye has worked really hard to get to this point and we are really excited for him and his family. His leadership was great for us even when he was injured and that speaks a lot about him.” RTCA Coach Hayne Brant said.

BPC Head Baseball Coach Aaron Larsen said, “The number one thing we liked about Tye was his leadership abilities and his blue collar work ethic. We needed some more guys that are going to in there and get after it every day and bring some leadership to a young team.”

“We are very proud of him and thankful for this opportunity to play at the next level. We feel like he is kind of coming home and it is full circle. Our family is very involved at BPC and he will be a fourth generation Baron. His great-grandfather was president there and I would think he would be pleased that Tye is going to play baseball there.” Joanna Mock said.
