June 21-- Jacob McLeod from Soperton is one of the top runners in the state and in the nation. McLeod a graduate from Trinity Christian in Dublin recently competed in the FSU relays in the 3200m race and ran a 8:52:70 which was a new FSU meet record as well as a new Georgia all-time high school record. He has been ranked as high as the 13th track and field athlete in the nation according to US Milesplit. McLeod is currently ranked number 3 nationally in the 3200m and also holds the top time in the 3200m and 1600m this year in the state. 6 7 18 Jacob McLeod

Jacob will attend Belmont University in Nashville, TN in the fall to compete in Cross Country and Track.

"I want to thank my parents for taking me to all of these different races and getting me the exposure I need to really excel in this sport. I also want to thank my coaches for preparing me to compete at the highest level." McLeod said.
