May 22—Congratulations to VHS Lady Indian Jasmin Phillips who signed a letter of intent for a Track and Field scholarship at Dodge City Community College in Kansas. Jasmin help lead the Lady Indians to a GHSA AA Girls State Championship this season.

“I have been striving almost six years for this and I am thankful for this opportunity. I want to thank my mother, father and most of all Coach Hart for pushing and believing in me. It is a long way from home but I know that I will be able to grow and they will be able to push me and be better than I am right now.” Phillips said.

Coach Grady Hart said, “This is something that Jasmin has wanted since the eighth grade and she is a hard worker. Jasmin improved every year and qualified for state in the long jump all of years in high school. She is tall and a very strong runner and also a leader. I am very proud of her and I wouldn’t be surprised if she makes the Olympics one day.”
