May 16-- The Vidalia Indians finished off a great season at the Class AA Georgia State Track Meet.  They fell short of their goals but had many outstanding individual performances.

TyQuan Powell came home as a State Champion in the 300M hurdles with a time of 39.1. He also placed 4th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.7.

“TyQuan had an amazing meet and also ran an excellent leg on the 4x400 and 4x100m relay teams. Tyquan is a true leader and lead this team all the way through the meet with a great attitude and a fierce, competitive spirit.  Even though he was completely fatigued and only had 30 minutes between the 300 hurdles and the 4x400 Relay he still managed to run a 49 second split on the 4x400.” Coach Mandy Godbee said.

Jaylen Clements placed 5th in the discus with a throw of 130'02.

Malik Lee placed 6th in the high jump.

Mielon Parrish finished 5th in the 400 meter dash and also competed in both relay races.

The relay teams came together with a 6th place finish in the 4x100 meter relay with Santuan Wells,Mielon Parris, Kahlil Jones and TyQuan Powell.

The 4x400 finished in 7th Place with the team of Santuan Wells, Tyquan Powell, Jesi McRae and Mielon Parrish.

“I am very proud of their efforts, they did the best that they could do on the day of the finals and came up short of their goals and personal best times in the relays.  We had a couple guys with banged up legs and they never complained, they just stepped up to the line and ran with all they had.  I can't ask for more.” Coach Godbee said.
