May 6-- The Crisp Academy Wildcats eliminated the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders Saturday in the rubber match of the GISA's AA state baseball playoffs in Cordele.

It was a 16 to one three-inning game to advance the Wildcats to the second round and to send the Crusaders home.

"A lot of folks didn't have us even getting into the playoffs," reported Chester Proctor on NewsTalk 970, "and now the Crusaders say goodbye to five seniors Ty Lewis, A.J. Stewart, Landon Dukes, Alex Matthews and Zack Pendergrass, but I'll tell you something, the Crusader nation has a lot to be proud of.  They're rebuilding with a lot of youth and will continue to grow getting ready for the next baseball season."
