April 5-- The Montgomery Co Eagles won a big time track meet in Atlanta Tuesday. The Eagles took first place in the Championship Primer meet hosted by Grady High School which had 15 schools ranging from class 3A - class 6 A . Not only were the Eagles the only Class A school present, but they were the only team from outside of the metro Atlanta area to be competing. The Eagles posted 119 team points to outpace 2nd place Cedar Grove HS - 104. Cedar Grove is the defending 3A state champions.

Clayton Harvey was the high point scorer for the meet taking 1st in the long Jump with a huge jump of 22-8 and picking up 2nd in both the 200 & 400. Clayton, Da'Quan Jackson, Darique Williams, and Trey Ricks took 1st in the 4x4. Randy Shoemake also grabbed first in the pole vault.

Da'Quan Jackson lowered his school record in the 300 hurdles to 41.60.

"The skyscrapers in the skyline of the stadium must of had the boys' adrenaline flowing because almost everyone on the team had a personal record or a season best performance." Coach Tim Suttles said.
