March 27—The Vidalia Indians competed on their home turf winning the Vidalia 2nd Annual County Track Championship.

Vidalia scored 130 points over second place Montgomery Co-75 points and Tattnall Co with 66 points.

Top performers for Vidalia Track and Field were:

Malik Lee-High jump- 2nd place clearing 6'

1st Place 4x100m- Keyun Strickland, Mielon Parrish, Kahlil Jones, TyQuan Powell

2nd Place 4x100 (B team) Jesi McRae, William Page, Santuan Wells, and Raymond Collins

2nd Place in 400m- Mielon Parrish

3rd Place in the 400 Santuan Wells with a personal best time

1st place in 100m Kahlil Jones

2nd place in 100 m Keyun Strickland

2nd Place in 110H TyQuan Powell

3rd Place in 110 H Jesi McRae

2nd Place in 1600- Cole Register with a personal best

1st place in 3200- Cole Register with a personal best

3rd place in the 800-Markell Parrish

2nd place in 200-Mielon Parrish

3rd Place in 200- Santuan Wells

2nd Place in 300H-TyQuan Powell

3rd Place in 300h- Jesi McRae with a personal best

1st place in the long jump with a HUGE personal best and putting him in the top 2 in the 2A state classifications is Jonathan Moody with a jump of 22'1"

Jonathan also placed 3rd in the triple jump.

1st place in Discus was Jaylan Clements

4x400 dominated in true Indian fashion with a 1st place finish with Santuan Wells, TyQuan Powell, Jesi McRae and Mielon Parrish

“The Middle School Track and Field team will compete in the region championship on Wednesday at East Laurens while our Vidalia Indian High School team will travel to Claxton on Thursday for another chance to improve and get better before we begin our qualifying rounds for the season.” Coach Mandy Godbee said.
