March 12-- The VHS Lady Indians ran at the 8th Annual Swamp Relays at Ware County High School this past Saturday.

Teams in attendance: Monroe Comprehensive High(3A), Bradwell Institute(6A), Lowndes High(7A), Ware County(5A), Statesboro High(5A), Thomas County Central(5A), Camden County, Coffee(6A), Battery Creek, Tift County(7A), Valdosta High(6A), Highland Christian Academy, Colquitt County(7A), Brunswick(6A), Wayne County(5A), Jeff Davis(2A), Effingham County(6A), Pierce County(3A),South Effingham(5A) Johnson(3A), Glynn Academy (6A)and Montgomery County(1A).

The Lady Indians placed 6th out of 22 schools.

Placing for the lady Indians:

Jala Murphy placed 1st in High Jump

Courtney Madison placed 1st in the 100meter hurdles.

Courtney Madison placed 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles.

Courtney Madison placed 4th in long jump.

Mahogany Johnson placed 7th in long jump.

Jasmin Phillips placed 5th in triple jump.

Jasmin Smith placed 3rd in discus

Kaijeah Victoria places 8th in discus

Team A of the 4x100 meter relay team placed 4th. Team consisted of Mahogany Johnson, Myesha Hall, Jasmin Phillips and Courtney Madison.

Coach Hart said, “I am very proud of the team performance this past Saturday. We accomplished new personal records in a lot of our events. Overall the team was excited to compete with good competition from around South Georgia.”
