March 6-- The Lady Indians finished 3rd out of 14 teams at the Baldwin High School Friday Night Lights Meet. Teams in attendance: Howard High School(AAAA), Baldwin High School(AAAA), West Laurens High School(AAAA), Cross Creek(AAAA), Mount De Sales, Thompson High School(AAAA), Central Macon(AAA), Mary Persons(AAAA), Montgomery County(A), Rutland(AAA), Appling County(AAA), Jefferson County(AAAA) and Jackson High School(AAA).

Courtney Madison placed 1st in the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles

Courtney Madison placed 2nd in long jump

Jala Murphy placed 3rd in high jump

Treyunna Roundtree placed 7th in high jump

Jasmin Phillips placed 3rd in triple jump

Az'sha Murphy placed 7th in shot put

Kayijeah Victoria placed 3rd in discus

Jasmin Phillips placed 7th in the 200 meter dash

Myesha Hall placed 8th in the 200 meter dash

Martasia Johnson placed 8th in the 400 meter dash

Dasia Williams placed 5th in the 100 meter hurdles

Natalie Owens placed 7th in the 300 meter hurdles

Team A of the 4x100 meter relay team placed 5th. Team consisted of Mahogany Johnson, Myesha Hall, Jasmin Phillips and Courtney Madison.

Team A of the 4x400 meter relay team placed 3rd. Team consisted of Martasia Johnson, Natalie Owens, Mahogany Johnson and Courtney Madison. 

Team B of the 4x400 meter relay team placed 6th. Team consisted of Dasia Williams, Chantelle Simpkins, Jakerra McRae and Keyashia Harden.

Coach Hart said, “ I am very proud of this team. In our first meet they came ready to compete. They knew there was going to be great competition and they showed they can compete with some of the best in the state. This meet made each and every one them bond as a family. I am very proud of their performance and how they finished despite how late and cold it was. I am excited to see this team compete this season. This is going to be a great year for Vidalia High School Track and Field.”
