March 4--  For the first time since 1982, the Vidalia Indians are playing for the State AA Basketball Championship.

Saturday in Milledgeville, the Indians rebounded from an early 11-2 deficit and came back to beat the Laney Wildcats 49-45 in the final four.

Vidalia will play Thomasville for the state title.  Indians head coach Tommy Dalley said, "We've just got to be ready.  I told our kids, you've only got to beat them once.  That's our mindset going in, whatever we've got to do to get a win."

The championship game is Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock in the Macon Coliseum.
