February 23—Zack Pendergrass of Robert Toombs Christian Academy signed a letter of intent to play football for the Fighting Scots of Maryville College in Tennessee.

“I really like the atmosphere at Maryville. The coaches were great and so were the people that I talked to. I am ready to go up there and give them all I have. I am going to play several positions up there on both offense and defense and that is exciting. I want to thank God for this opportunity. I also want to thank Coach Smith and all of the rest of the coaches for helping me build my skills. I also want to thank my parents for all they have done for me and supporting me.” Pendergrass said.

RTCA Head Coach said, “Zack has been a two-year starter and an All-Region player. He has really added another element to us with his speed and always did a good job shutting down the other teams’ top receivers. He had a knack for making big plays. He is just unselfish on the field and did what we needed him to do for the team. We are just super proud of him.”

“I am very proud of him. He wants to go into engineering and Maryville has a great program for that. It isn’t too far away and we plan on making it up to every home game to see him play.” Key McBride said.
