February 22—Wil Duvall of Robert Toombs Christian Academy signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play football for the Bears at Mercer University in Macon.

“I chose Mercer because of how close it was to home and also for the academics. I plan on majoring in prelaw and they have a very good program. I really like defensive line Coach Baker. He was a big part of my decision to go there. I want to thank Coach Smith and Coach Will and all the coaches that pushed me to get to this point. I also want to thank my mom and dad and of course God for giving me this great opportunity.” Duvall said.

RTCA Head Coach Thomas Smith stated, “Wil has been one of those program builder guys. He was a four year starter and has gone from 160 lbs. as a freshman to 220 lbs. during his time here. He has a great work ethic and an All-State player for us this year. Wil has also been a two year captain and a great young man off the field and we are excited for his future.”

“We are very proud of him and glad that the decision making is over. He can now just enjoy his senior year and start getting ready. Coach Smith and his staff have really worked hard with him. We are looking forward to going to see him play.” Lindi Duvall said.
