February 14—A.J. Stewart of Robert Toombs Christian Academy signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play football at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.

“I really liked how the coaches and I got along. It just seemed like a perfect fit for me. I hope to be able to get there and get some playing time and have a good freshman year. I want to thank my coaches and my family for pushing me and getting me to this point. It is a long way from home, but I am looking forward to it and having a good time.” Stewart said.

RTCA Head Coach Thomas Smith stated, “A.J. has worked really hard to make himself into a college level athlete. He worked hard in the weight room to put on some size and has always had good speed and really became one of our home run guys in the passing game this year. He also came up big with interceptions on defense and had a really good year. We are excited for his future.”

“We are proud of him. Coming to RTCA has been such a great thing for A.J., it has made him a big difference in him. He is a great kid and he has enjoyed his time here at RTCA. He wants to be a veterinarian and this will give him the chance to work toward that. We are going to miss him being so far away, but we know that the Lord has a plan and that this is best for him.” His father Bob Stewart said.
