February 9—Toombs County Bulldog Ervin Mincey signed a letter of intent Wednesday for a scholarship to play football for the University of West Georgia in Carrollton. Mincey was a standout for the Bulldogs and played several positions including defensive end.

“First of all I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play at the next level. I want to thank my coaches, teachers, parents, grandmother and the community for being behind me. I think West Georgia will be a good home for me.” Mincey said.

“He has a good bloodline with other members of his family that have really been special to this program. Ervin was a force for us every Friday night and played about every position for us. He improved tremendously over the years.” Bulldogs Head Coach Ritchie Marsh stated.
