January 7—The Vidalia Indians swept the Montgomery County Eagles at home Saturday at The H. Ralph Parsons Gymnasium. The Indians hung on in a thriller to beat the Class A #2 ranked Eagles 60-59 and the Lady Indians picking up their third win of the year defeating the Lady Eagles 25-22.

The Indians led 18-13 after the first period and 34-25 at halftime. The Eagles outscored the Indians 19-14 in the third quarter and 34-26 in the second half. The Eagles tied the game at 48-48 in the fourth quarter. Both teams had the lead down the stretch. The Eagles missed a shot to win the game at the buzzer.

The Lady Indians trailed 7-6 after the first quarter. The game was tied at the half 12-12. Vidalia led 19-14 at the end of the third period.

Madison Taufmann led the Lady Indians in scoring with 9 points.
