January 5--  Vidalia Heritage Academy Athletic Director Jeremy Moore has some sports notes from the school.

  • This coming Monday night, January 8th, we will have our 1st DQ night of 2018.  The elementary archery team will be there serving.  Apparently there is some big football game that night as well, so we are going to run the event from 5:00PM - 7:00 PM in order to get everyone home in time to see the game.  Come out and 'tailgate' a bit in your red and black.  I have asked the owner of DQ to charge double to anyone wearing crimson that night.  (Just kidding!)
  • Next Saturday, January 13, our cheerleaders will be hosting the GICAA State championships at Brewton Parker College.  The event will start around 10:00 AM.  This event was originally supposed to take place in Atlanta before Christmas, but due to inclement weather, was postponed.  BPC has generously agreed to let us use their gym to host the make-up event.  Our cheerleaders do not often get a chance to compete close to home, so if you can, please come out and support our girls as they compete for the GICAA state championships.
  • Also, on January 13, our archery teams will be in Savannah competing at Veritas.  Our middle school and varsity teams have already qualified for regionals and are working hard to prepare for regionals.  Great job archers!
  • Our spring sports will be getting under way over the next few weeks with tryouts, so please be on the lookout for info regarding spring sport tryouts early next week.
