December 21-- The Montgomery Co Eagles defeated the Calhoun Co Cougars in overtime 94-91 at home Wednesday in a battlle of Class A top five teams. The Eagles trailed 20-16 after the first quarter and 40-29 at halftime. Montgomery Co trailed by six points at the end of the third period 57-51. Both teams held the lead in the fourth quarter with the Eagles outscoring the Cougars 30-24 in the period. The game ended in regulation tied at 81-81. Montgomery Co outscored Calhoun Co in the overtime period 13-10 to get the win.
Daveaun Coglin led the Eagles in scoring with 33 points.Jaheim Wilson had 23 points, Daquan Jackson scored 17 points and Shaw Robinson had 15 points.
The Eagles improve to 8-1 for the season and head to Calhoun Co this Saturday to take part in the Christmas tournament and will play Pelham at 1:15pm.
