December 15—The Vidalia High School Indians Football team held the 2017 Indian Banquet Thursday night at the Vidalia First Baptist Church. Head Coach Lee Chomskis and the coaching staff handed out awards to the players after the team had a season of making it to the first round of the state playoffs.

Some of the Varsity Awards included: Special Teams MVP Grady Blount, Offensive MVP Derman Simmons, Offensive Coaches Award Tristan Cross, Defensive Coaches Award Tilen Victoria, the Buck Cravey Award (Effort and Character) Nyshun Bell, the Charles Wood Memorial Award (Overcame Adversity) went to Nassir Wagner and the Teresa Morris Award (Servant) to Tristan Cross. The winner of the Jack Sasser Award given to a booster or a fan was Coach Ed Smith.

“It wasn’t the season that we wanted. It was a great night to be able to award these kids that are working so hard and have been committed for so long to put in a great effort for us. They have done everything that we have asked them to do. We want to send them off on a high note and we are looking forward to next season.” Coach Lee Chomskis said. 12 15 17 VHS Indian Football Banquet
