The Vidalia Indians raced to 28 first half points and ran by Bryan County 35-7 Friday night at Buck Cravey Field in Vidalia. The Indians racked up 299 yards of offense including 103 yards through the air to finish the regular season at 5-4 and 5-2 in Region 2AA play. With the win the Indians will head to the playoffs for the 6th straight year and the 8th time in the last 9 years. The win for the Indians was also the 85th for Coach Lee Chomskis as the Vidalia Head Coach. 

The Indians wasted no time getting on the board in the first quarter. After holding the Redskins to a three and out, the Indians got good field position at their own 44 yard line. From there the Indians took just 6 plays to score, on a 9 yard Hall Graham to Tristan Cross pass to make the score 7-0 following Grady Blount’s PAT with 10:20 to go in the opening quarter.

Gain the Indians defense would force a three and out and force a Bryan County punt which was blocked by Nyshun Bell and recovered in the end zone by Mark Wardlaw to make it 14-0 following Blount’s PAT.

Vidalia’s third score came on it’s next possession to make it 21-0 following a 9 play 69 yard drive, which was capped by Santuan Well’s 4 yard run and with 18 seconds to go in the first quarter Vidalia led 21-0.

Bryan County would again be held to another three and out and give Vidalia the ball on their own 28 yard line following a Bryan County punt. The Indians would then go on a 11 play 72 yard drive mixing up passing and running plays capped off by Jonathon Moody going in from 8 yards out to make it 28-0 following the PAT, this time by Ben Cato.

The Final score of the night came on the opening kickoff of the second half when Derman Simmons took the ball on the bounce at the 25 yard line, then come up the home sideline and sprinted 75 yards to pay dirt to make it 35-0 after the Cato PAT.

The 4th quarter was played with a running clock in which Bryan County would get their only score of the night, a 85 yard Terron Dixon run to make the final score 35-7 Vidalia.

Hall Graham threw for 103 yards on a 5 for 8 night including his 4th TD of the year and Derman Simmons led the Indians with 39 yards on 7 carries on the ground.
