October 6--  The Montgomery County Eagles made the short trip to Bobby Driggers Stadium in Soperton and scored on their first play from scrimmage in route to a 47 – 7 win over their rivals, the Treutlen Vikings.

Senior RB Clayton Harvey had a big night, scoring on the Eagle’s first play on a 62 yard run up the middle to give Montgomery County the early 7 - 0 lead.  Harvey also scored on runs of 73, 23, and 11 yards and ended the night with 266 yards rushing and 4 TD’s.

The Vikings picked up their lone score on a nice 43 yard run by QB Sabo Mitchell with 9:05 remaining in the first quarter.  Mitchell ended the night with 137 yards rushing to lead the Treutlen offense.  The Viking offense sputtered most of the night with only 2 drives of more than 5 plays.

Treutlen falls to 1-6 on the season and are off Friday night before heading to Alamo on October 20th to face the Wheeler County Bulldogs.  Kickoff is at 7:30.  Be sure to catch all the action with Dr. John Pournelle and Jeff Raiford on Sweet Onion Country 101.7 FM and online at www.southeastgeorgiatoday.com.
