John ShiversViking RB John Shivers turns the corner for a nice gainAugust 12--  The Treutlen Vikings scored on their first offensive play and every offensive possession afterward plus a defensive touchdown in their 54 – 0 victory in their second scrimmage over the Glascock County Panthers in Gibson, GA Friday night.

After stopping the Panthers on their opening possession, Viking QB Sabo Mitchell hit Tafarje Jordan on a 75 yard TD pass on their first offensive play to take a 6-0 lead with 6:39 remaining in the first quarter.  Jordan scored again on the next possession on a 2 yard run.  The 2 point conversion attempt failed and Treutlen led 12-0 with 3:43 left in the first quarter.

On the Panthers next possession, Senior DB John Shivers intercepted a Glascock County pass and returned it 28 yards for the score.  Treutlen added two more touchdowns in the second quarter on runs by Jordan and Shivers to take a 33-0 halftime lead.

The Viking offense continued its success in the third quarter on a 76 yard TD pass to Javis Wise and runs of 25 and 27 yards by Colt Brantley and James Byrd III respectively to give Treutlen a 54-0 win after 3 quarters of varsity play.  The fourth quarter was dedicated to the younger players getting time but was cut short with 8:34 left as lightning in the area ended the contest.

Through three quarters, the Vikings amassed 378 yards of offense, 169 on the ground and 209 through the air.  The Treutlen defense held Glascock County to just 89 yards on the night in the shutout.
