Paul Claxton trophy picAugust 6—Long-time PGA Tour Veteran and Hawk’s Point Pro Paul Claxton shot a final round four under par 68 Sunday to win the 64th Drip Fusion Georgia Open presented by Gas South and E-Z-Go at The Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill. Claxton shot a 13 under par 275 total with rounds of 68, 70, 69, and 68 to win the tournament by four shots.

Three players tied for second Dylan Freeman of St. Simons Island, Timothy O’Neal of Savannah and Jimmy Beck of Columbus.

Claxton has qualified and will play in the PGA Championship next week at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte.

Paul Claxton on greenThe Ford Plantation course was designed by legendary golf architect Pete Dye and opened in 1987. Dye updated the course in 2014 and is a par 72 and played at 7262 yards for the championship.
