June 29— Wednesday at Vidalia High School Indian defensive back Johnny McNeil signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play football and attend college at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

“I want to thank my parents, coaches and all the people that helped me get this opportunity, hard work pays off.” McNeil said.

“He is a story that you like to tell other players and coaches. Johnny started out thinking he didn’t have the skills to do the job but he kept working hard and getting better. He made plays when we needed them and I am excited that he is going to get this opportunity.” Indians Defensive Backs Coach Jason McBride stated.
