May 18—Vidalia High School Lady Indian Katelin Blount signed her letter of intent for a scholarship to play soccer for the Lady Barons at Brewton Parker College in Mt Vernon. Blount has been a top defender for Vidalia and helped the Lady Indians the last few years make a run in the state playoffs.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I really like that it BPC is close to home. I want to thank my dad for pushing me, and my family and friends, Coach Fletcher Corbin and everyone that helped me along the way.” Blount said.

“She has worked really hard and we really like Coach Gadd. It is great to see her get the opportunity to get to play the game she fell in love with when she was a little girl. We are proud of her and can’t wait to see what the future hold.” Chris Blount (father).

BPC Coach Brittney Gadd said, “Right off the bat I noticed her composure when she had the ball. She distributes the ball well, and we are excited to get her as a center-back. We are working on getting some more local players and sometimes they get overlooked, but there are a lot of good players in the area and we are excited to get them over at BPC.”
