May 1-- The GICAA track and field state championships were held on April 21-22 at Lamar County High School in Barnesville.  4 runners from Vidalia Heritage Academy had qualified through regionals to compete at the state competition.  On Friday, Logan McBride ran in the 800m run and placed 6th.  On Saturday, Katie Dawson competed in both the 100m and 200m finals, placing 6th in both events.  Madaly Labit competed in the 3200m and placed 4th overall.  Briley Braddy qualified to compete in the 300m hurdles and ran her best time of the year at state, placing 3rd overall. Coach Jeremy Moore added "I was quite proud of how our varsity kids ran all year.  Just like with the middle school program, this is the first year for these kids to be out running track, and they competed well at sectionals, and that carried over to the state meet.  I am pleased with how we ended the season.  We have a very young varsity team and we hope to continue to build on these results going into the season next year."5 1 17 VHA Varsity Track Logan
