Volleyball announcementBrewton-Parker College is thrilled to announce the addition of a Men's Volleyball program to its list of official sports. This move will automatically bring more attention to the indoor facilities and the Women's Volleyball program as well. Coach Jonathan Rose, who took over the Woman's program last semester, will be controlling both programs. Coach Rose responded excitingly saying, "We are excited for the addition of the Men's Program, which adds a new aspect to our school. My goal is to view this as an expansion of the volleyball program, not two separate programs.  Men's volleyball is growing and we are excited to be on the front side of that growth."

Men's Volleyball is rather new to the NAIA and extremely new to several southern colleges. Brewton-Parker will actually be the first NAIA College in the state of Georgia to have a Men's Volleyball program, and marks one of three colleges in the southeast to have it as an intercollegiate competitive sport. (Bryan College in Dayton, TN, Warner College in Lake Wales, FL, and Brewton-Parker College) It is a growing sport as there are currently 31 colleges in the NAIA competing in intercollegiate competition. The other difference in the Women's programs and Men's programs, are that the Men's programs will compete in the spring semester as opposed to the fall semester that the Women's programs have for years. This is a chance for Brewton-Parker College to be on the front side of history, as the NAIA will change the postseason from an invitational to a National Championship sport when 40 colleges have declared their willingness to participate.
Competition is slated to begin at Brewton-Parker College in the spring of 2018. This is one of multiple additions to the athletics programs made by new Vice President of Athletics Daniel Prevett.Prevett had to say,"We are thrilled to add such an exciting sport that is emerging across the country. Having a former men's college volleyball athlete as our coach makes this an easy transition." The Men's Volleyball program is supported by the administration of Brewton-Parker College. The NAIA will announce Brewton-Parker's program formally at the end of the 2017 season.
