February 12—The Vidalia Lady Indians lost to the Bryan County Lady Redskins 52-49 Saturday at the Region 2AA Championship Game at the Toombs County Middle School in Lyons. The Lady Indians were looking for their fourth consecutive Region 2AA title but came up short.

Vidalia trailed 8-7 after the first period and took the lead in the second quarter and led 22-21 at the half. Both teams battled in the second half and shared the lead but the Lady Indians committed costly turnovers in the fourth period and missed sixteen shots under the basket during the game that proved to be the difference in the contest.

Darrielle Brinson scored 18 points and Gabrielle Chambliss had 17 points to lead the Lady Indians in scoring.

Vidalia will host Jefferson County in the first round of the state playoffs Friday at 6:00.2 12 17 VHS Girls
