July 17--  Authorities are trying to find a prisoner who escaped from the Montgomery County Correctional Institute Sunday morning.

mocoprisonerMontgomery County Sheriff Doug Maybin says 58-year-old Walter Eller of Quitman, Georgia was on a work detail at the prison chicken house when he escaped.  He's described as a white male, reddish complexion, 5 foot ten inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds.  He may be wearing civilian clothing since part of his prison uniform was found discarded at the chicken house.

Sheriff Maybin believes there's a good chance someone was waiting nearby in a vehicle since Eller has not been spotted since his escape.

He was in prison for burglary, battery, obstructing an officer and entering vehicles.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Montgomery County 911.
