Saturday evening the 2016 Vidalia Onion Junior Miss and Miss Vidalia Onion were crowned at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia.

In the Junior Miss Division, Bryn Coleman was crowned the 2016 Junior Miss Vidalia Onion and said despite being very excited when she heard her name called, the "entire evening was stressful. Putting everything together and making it all work created a lot of stress.  But, it was all worth it and I am very thankful to be crowned Junior Miss Vidalia Onion."

Meanwhile, the culmination of hard work and anticipation ended with a familiar name being announced as the 2016 Miss Vidalia Onion.  Singer and last season star of The Voice, DeAnna Johnson took home the coveted title.  The Miss Vidalia Onion Pageant was only DeAnna Johnson's fourth pageant and she said "this being my fourth pageant added to the excitement when I hear my name called." When it comes to future aspirants of the crown, Johnson's advice was to "just work hard and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to."

American Business Women's Association President Angela Cook was very pleased with the full day of pageantry and said at the close of the evening, "I am very pleased with all of the hard work and effort that everyone, including these ladies, put into tonight. I think everything went very well and I am happy to be a part of such a great group of women."

The Queens from all age divisions will have the honor of representing the Sweet Onion City between now and April 2017 throughout Georgia.
