November 11-- Mr. Ronald Wilson, age 75, of Lyons, died Thursday, November 9, 2017, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, lived in Winter Haven, Florida for several years, where he also graduated high school.  He lived in Lyons most of his life, and was U.S. a Army veteran, stationed in Germany.  He was owner/operator of Wilson’s and Son Service Station in Lyons for forty-two years.  Ronald enjoyed farming, riding his tractor, the mountains, and Sunday drives with his family and his dog B.J.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Esta Kirkland Wilson; and three brothers, Charles Wilson, Carlis Wilson, and Ralph Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Carolyn Wilson of Lyons; two children, Jan Wilson Simmons and George Barwick, and Tony Wilson, all of Lyons; three granddaughters, Kristy Simmons and fiancé Victor Kennedy of Reidsville, Niki Simmons and fiancé Daniel Prince of Atlanta, and Tiffany Beckum and husband Lucas of Oak Park; four great-grandchildren, Lawson, Maycee, Desiree, and Laddie; one sister, Patsy Wilson Richey and husband Don of Augusta; two sisters-in-law, Martha Lou Wilson and Ruth Wilson, both of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 12th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Phillips officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
