July 7--Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Cleatha Mae Parrish age 89 of Trenton, New Jersey.  Cleatha Mae Parrish was born on October 9, 1928 in Reidsville, GA to the late Charley and Arsula Collins. She was the 10th of 17Children. She received her high school education at Dickerson training school in Vidalia, GA.
After graduating she taught elementary school for a few years. She met and married Richard Parrish Jr. (who preceded her in death on August 7, 1947).  From this union they parented 7 children. They remained married 54years. In 1953 Cleatha, her husband and two young children moved to New Jersey where she was a devoted housewife for many years as her family grew. After her children were older, she worked in the Mattel Toy factory and R.E.D.M factory in Wayne, NJ, and then in Harrison, NJ. Cleatha grew up in a household of Baptist religion. As a young adult she accepted a home bible study for her family and after being taught by means of God’s word the Bible, she dedicated her life to Jehovah God by means of water Baptism in 1973 at a convention at Yankee Stadium. She attended the Newark West Congregation.
She was predeceased by her siblings; sisters: Frankie Collins, Dorothy Walker, Ada McCloud, and Erma Sharpe. Brother: Elmer Collins, Johnnie Collins, Joseph Collins, and Charles Collins.
She has left to mourn her passing Four Siblings; Thelma Hart of Miami Gardens, Betty Jean Collins of Vidalia, GA, Clevon Collins of Newark, NJ and Ira Collins of Vidalia, GA. Four Sons, Tommy Parrish (Linda) of Matawan, NJ, Faakhir Abdul Azeez (Born Robert Parrish), Richard Parrish III (Michelle), and Charles Parrish all of Newark. Two Daughters; Dixie Hansford (Grover) of Alpha, NJ, Bonnie Parrish Scott (Terry) of Newark, NJ. Fourteen Grandchildren; Roslyn, Connie, Rajohn, Stacey, Shareef, Kenyatta, Ambi, Saheed, Misty, Catrina, Samirah, Najib, Zaid, and Lachelle. Thirty-Five Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild all of whom she loved so much. Cleatha also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 1 PM until 5 PM at Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home in Vidalia, GA.  A wake will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home in Vidalia, GA.
Funeral Service will be held on July 8, 2017 at 11:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Vidalia, GA.  Interment will follow in Oakey Grove Cemetery in Lyons, GA.
Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Cleatha Mar Parrish.
