March 17-- Mr. Clyde “O.C.” Harrell, age 63, of Toombs County, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, in Candler/St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, after a brief illness. He was a native of Toombs County, lived there most of his life, and was a 1971 graduate of Vidalia High School. He started his career with Georgia Power as a lineman, and retired as high line construction supervisor after thirty-six years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Dessie Blaxton Harrell; and a brother, Bill Harrell.
Mr. Harrell is survived by his fiancé, Sheri Shipes of Toombs County; two sons, Daniel Harrell and wife Cassie of Statesboro, and Josh Harrell and fiancé Allison of Vidalia; two sisters, Hazel Williams and husband Julius, and Wynokia Foskey, all of Vidalia; three brothers, Rooster Harrell, David Harrell, both of Vidalia, and Peabody Harrell and wife Shelby of Lyons; three grandchildren, Carter, Carson, and Luke; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16th at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow in the Blockers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00
