June 6--  There'll be some road paving going on this summer in Lyons.

Tuesday night the city council okayed a contract with Sikes Construction for $103,174 to do some paving on West Oglethorpe Avenue and Williams Avenue.

The council also approved some fines for city court.  Texting while driving will cost you $150, driving an ATV on a city street will cost $200, and selling alcohol to anyone under 21 will cost $300 for the first offense, up to a $1,000 the second time and up to $2,000 and suspension of business license for a year if it's a three-time loser.

The council's July meeting was moved from July 3 to July 10 because of the Fourth of July holiday.
