October 14-- A procession which left Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport early this afternoon arrived in Lyons a little after 5 p.m. bearing the body of Toombs County Green Beret Staff Sergeant Dustin Wright.
Funeral Director Ron Hall said a ceremony was held at the airport and that almost every overpass down Interstate's 75 and 16 bore a contingent of firemen and law enforcement officers showing respect for Staff Sergeant Wright who was killed in an ambush October 4 in Niger located in southwest Africa.
As the procession arrived in his hometown of Lyons, U.S.Highway One was lined with citizens holding American flags in his honor. The procession was led by law enforcement vehicles and included members of the family and an escort of Patriot Guard motorcyclists.
Visitation is being held at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia tonight.
The funeral is Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in Booster Stadium and will include remarks from Staff Sergeant Wright's commanding officer, Captain Sion Brannah.
Interment will full military honors will follow at Harden's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery on Highway 56 East in south Toombs County.
