October 13-- Funeral services for Army Green Beret Staff Sergeant Dustin Wright will be held Sunday afternoon at two p.m. at Booster Stadium in Lyons.
Visitation will be held at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia Saturday night starting at six p.m. "until."
Interment will be in the cemetery at Harden's Chapel United Methodist Church with full military honors.
The Toombs County Sheriff's Office reports that Highway 56 East from U.S. One to Johnson Corner Road will be closed Sunday afternoon from three til six p.m. to accommodate the funeral procession to the cemetery.
Ron Hall reports Staff Sergeant Wright's body is expected to arrive at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Saturday where he will be picked up and brought back home.
The hearst will be accompanied by escorts from the Toombs County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol. According to Hall, the procession will exit I-16 on U.S. Highway One to Lyons where it will turn on U.S. Highway 280 West to Vidalia, turn right at Meadows Regional Medical Center then left on Highway 292 West to the funeral home in Vidalia. He expects to arrive in the area between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Saturday.
Staff Sergeant Wright graduated from Toombs County High School in 2007 and joined the Army in 2012. He was killed last week in the African country of Niger in an ambush.
