October 12--  An announcement may be made next week on a new president of the Toombs-Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and the Toombs County Development Authority.

Current President Bill Mitchell has held the job for the past 17 years and earlier this year announced his intention to retire at the end of December.

Chamber Board Chairwoman Ginger Morris and Development Authority Board Chairman Tommy Rollins have called a joint meeting of their boards on Thursday, October 19th at 11:30 a.m. in the chamber boardroom.

Nine people applied for the job and the recommendation of the search committee will be considered by the two boards.
