September 10-- Neena Bloxham at Vidalia Heritage Academy reports on the school's plans to observe 9/11 Friday.
"Friday marks the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Each year that this date falls on a school day we have sought to remember those innocent men and women who lost their lives on that day as well as those who died trying to rescue them. We will do the same this year but will add a hospitality tent with coffee, donuts, and juice for our area heroes--members of law enforcement, firefighters, EMS/EMT, etc. We believe all lives matter, Law Enforcement Lives Matter. Firefighters Matter. First Responders Matter.
- The Hospitality Tent will be open from 8:15 - 9:00 am. If you are a member of law enforcement, fire and rescue, EMS/EMT please stop by on the corner of Jackson St. and Highway 280 and let us serve you.
- From 8:20 - 8:55 am Middle and High School Students will gather at the corner of Jackson St. and Highway 280 waving banners and flags encouraging passersby to remember our heroes.
- From 12:30 - 1:00 pm Kindergarten - 2nd grade will gather on the sanctuary steps while 3rd graders along with Middle and High Schoolers will gather along Highway 280 waving banners and flags encouraging passersby to remember our heroes.
From 1:00 - 1:30 pm 4th and 5th grade students will take up the same cause."
