Former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized in Portland, Maine out of an abundane of caution for a broken bone in his neck, according to his spokesman. The 91 year-old suffered a fall at the family home in Maine.


Greek lawmakers voted overwhelmingly early Thursday to approve a harsh austerity bill demanded by bailout creditors, despite significant dissent from members of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' own left-wing party.

Last year, undercover government investigators set up a “secret shopper” sting on the Obamacare website, creating 12 fake identities trying to scam taxpayers of thousands of dollars in premium subsidies.   The exchange approved 11 of the 12 fraudulent applications then doled out $2,500 per month or $30,000 per year.   The worst part?  More than a year later – after the fakes were exposed by GAO – they were automatically re-enrolled and are still getting even higher subsidy amounts. 

Nearly 50 people have been arrested in a massive drug sting operation in Dallas.   Among the 46 people arrested: several employees at the Dallas-Fort Worth International airport.  Acting US States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas John R. Parker says they've been arrested for distribution conspiracy involving cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine.  All of the defendants are expected in court today.  Prosecutors say four of the defendants used their jobs the airport to get drugs through security.  Each faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Consumer Reports is announcing it will no longer recommend liquid laundry detergent pods because of the continued high-rate of accidental poisonings of young children attributable to those products. The organization now strongly urges households where children younger than 6 are ever present to refrain from purchasing them.   In the first six months of 2015, poison-control centers nationwide received more than 6,000 reports of kids 5 and younger ingesting and inhaling pods, or getting pod contents on their skin or in their eyes. That’s a pace set to eclipse the 2014 total of 11,714 and 10,877 in 2013, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers.

The family of Aaron Quinn is finally able to speak out for the first time after all these months, defending their loved one and grateful for vindication. Quinn’s brother, Matt, says he knew Quinn and his girlfriend, Denise Huskins, were victims of a kidnapping. “I’m so glad. I’m so glad that they got vindicated on this,” he said
